Detector Instrument Engineer (Contract)
Within TRIUMF, our detector group has an international reputation for developing and constructing state-of-the-art detectors, as well as developing new detector technologies. The group contributes heavily to the design, development, and construction of advanced detectors for very diverse applications. While its roots lie in the development of detectors for particle and nuclear physics, the activities have expanded over time to support advanced detector development for molecular and materials sciences and nuclear medicine.
At present we have an immediate opening for an early career level Engineer to fill a maternity leave vacancy for a 10 to 12 month term. This position will have responsibility for providing design, prototyping and production of detectors of energetic particles for the research programs at TRIUMF and collaborating laboratories abroad. This position is well suited to an engineer looking to gain further experience while working on unique projects in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.

Your minimum qualifications will include a BSc in applied science or an engineering discipline from an accredited Canadian program or equivalent, and at least 2 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience after graduation level, or, the equivalent combination of education and experience. You will ideally have relevant training or hands on experience in mechanical design of particle detectors.
