If you are seeking a new challenge that will further develop your Scientific Computing career, one which will allow you to make a difference, then you will be interested in joining our Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) team. This team is responsible for providing our management and staff with the tools and information necessary to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment, ensuring a healthy workforce and a safe workplace which enables TRIUMF to maintain excellence in scientific research.
You will be responsible for providing the scientific computing support necessary for hazard and safety analyses in radiation protection, as well as for supporting engineering design of high power targets, beam dumps, and beam line components. You will provide scientific analysis using Monte Carlo codes for the production and transport of energetic particles in materials associated with the bombardment by accelerated beams of protons and electrons. This analysis is required to address problems in several different areas:
If this position excites you, and you have extensive experience with scientific computing on a Linux platform, including management and testing of code libraries; and experience with Monte Carlo code such as FLUKA for shielding and activation analysis, then we invite you to apply.
