Competition # 573Mechanical Technician - 2 Year TermTRIUMF is currently expanding with the construction of the Advanced Rare IsotopE Laboratory (ARIEL) which will broaden TRIUMF's (and Canada's) capabilities to produce and study isotopes for physics and medicine. ARIEL will include a new high power electron linear accelerator as a driver for the production of rare isotopes via photo fission, and a second target for an additional proton beam line. In support of the ARIEL project, we are recruiting 2 mechanical technicians who will provide temporary assistance in the assembly and installation of charged particle beam line systems, sub-systems, and associated services for the new facility. Education and/or experience in 3D Solidworks, lathe machining, milling machines, drill presses and assorted hand tools, and laser trackers will be considered an asset, as will a basic knowledge of vacuum technology, leak detections, and ultra-high vacuum cleaning and installation techniques.
