Competition # 405Cyclotron OperatorTRIUMF, Canada's National Research Facility for Particle and Nuclear Physics, is a leading accelerator based research laboratory in Canada. It is renowned for its diverse program in a wide range of physics and nuclear medicine. Our Applied Technology Group (ATG) is comprised of several work teams including Isotope Production, Cyclotron Operations, and Technical Support. This group focuses on the production of radioactive isotopes for use by Nordion, a global life sciences company that provides products and services that are used in the development of drugs and diagnosis and treatment of disease.Currently the ATG is accepting applications for a Cyclotron Operator who will join a team of Operators responsible for the safe operation of its isotope production cyclotrons, and for the associated maintenance and repair activities. Our Operators are required to take an in-house TRIUMF Radiation Protection Training course necessary to receive the designation of Nuclear Energy Worker. The next course is scheduled for mid-January 2014.
