Mechanical Technician - Nuclear Ventilation

TRIUMF is Canada's National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics, and one of the worlds leading subatomic physics laboratories. Much effort is placed on maintaining and upgrading the TRIUMF site and its entire mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

Your opportunity to be a part of our team starts here as a Technician in our Mechanical Site Services group. Assisting our Nuclear Ventilation Specialist, you will perform inspections, test and calibrate nuclear ventilation CAD and HEPA filters, calibrate aneroid gauges and transmitters, calibrate and inspect fume hoods and provide other related assistance as required.

Your skill set includes a basic working knowledge of mechanical systems and low voltage controls along with good interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and anticipate what needs to be done. You are also a team player with the ability to quickly and effectively respond to operational demands.

Our ideal candidate has a recent diploma in Mechanical Technology from BCIT or another recognized Institute of Technology, with at least 2 years practical hands-on experience. You must be legally able to work in Canada; a permanent resident or Canadian Citizen. The position requires on-site training to be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
