Position Title:Accounting Documentation Specialist | ||
Name of Project:Financial Policy/Procedure Documentation | ||
Overview:Reporting to the Controller, the position will have the chance to review the existing financial policies and procedures, understand the business processes and workflows, and document the business processes, work manuals and financial controls. This position will also work with management to analyze business processes, workflows, and controls for improvement opportunities, and when needed, help define the operational impact of proposed modifications. | ||
Duties:1. Review and understand the existing financial policies and procedures2. Gather information from subject matter experts to understand business processes and workflows 3. Develop and document the business processes, work manuals, and financial controls 4. Write detailed policy and procedure documents based on discussions with process owners and identification/creation of process flows with an emphasis on accuracy and clarity 5. Develop and organize training materials 6. Review and make recommendations for process improvements 7. Provide support to other project within the finance area | ||

Qualifications:• Year 3 or 4 of a Bachelor Degree in Business/Accounting/Auditing;• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals/groups • Excellent organization, time, and project management skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment • Possess a strong work ethic, be energetic and willing to learn • Good computer and documentation skills, specifically Word, Excel, Visio. | ||

Salary is commensurate with academic progress and previous relevant work experience, and
ranges from $ 2080 to $ 2800 per month plus 4% vacation pay. TRIUMF pays round-trip airfare (this does not apply to Vancouver/Victoria students); for Vancouver Island students, TRIUMF will pay ferry costs.
