Position Title:Electronic board layout and construction, microprocessor and FPGA programming, documentation. | ||
Name of Project:Beam Diagnostics Electronics Development | ||
Overview:For the purpose of beam diagnostics we need to design and build electronics capable of measuring amplitude and phase of small RF signal. The project will require to work on electronic schematic and a printed circuit board layout, module assemblying, testing and documenting. The design incorporates a modern microprocessor and FPGA. Understanding of its functionality and software support will be required. A certain amount of C and VHDL programming will be also needed | ||
Duties:Schematics entry and pcb layout using our Proteus design software. Ordering parts and electronics assembly. Testing the products with modern precision Lab equipment. Learning and understanding of a Cortex-M3 ARM microprocessor and its bundled software. Write application oriented C-codes. Programming FPGA. Producing required documentation. | ||
Skills learned during this work experience:Use of CAD program and electronic construction techniques. Use of Lab electronic equipment. Programming ARM microprocessors and FPGA. Integrating them into electronics designs. | ||

Salary is commensurate with academic progress and previous relevant work experience, and
ranges from $ 2080 to $ 2800 per month plus 4% vacation pay. TRIUMF pays round-trip airfare (this does not apply to Vancouver/Victoria students); for Vancouver Island students, TRIUMF will pay ferry costs.
